NoSQL Database Monitor

In the ubiquitous Digital Economy, the challenges to traditional MySQL solutions are increasing. NoSQL Solutions on the contrary provide a great flexibility in terms of data storage and access. They have an intensive support for clustering which has become a need for high computational and storage resources. With a very simplistic model, NoSQL has the ability to operate at any scale because the expansion is non-traditionally cost-effective, simple and fully reliable.

NoSQL Databases are a critical component of the information technology infrastructure of business houses. The performance of databases defines the success of organizations in providing the 24x7 level of customer satisfaction and smooth operations of day to day business activities. Database Monitoring helps you to monitor the performance of databases and provide extensive information so that necessary steps can be taken before a breakdown of vital business processes occurs.

Managing NoSQL Database monitors

To view the list of all available monitors defined with the AppPerfect Monitor, log in as administrator and click the "Monitors" tab. A list of all defined monitors is displayed. You can edit the properties of a monitor by clicking it and updating the properties page for that monitor.

To delete a monitor, select the checkbox to the left of that monitor and click "Delete". When you delete a monitor, you may choose to preserve the data already recorded for that monitor or you may delete the monitor along with all its historical data.

Couchbase

Couchbase server is an open source, distributed, document-oriented NoSQL database that supports massive data storage and management with increased flexibility and scalability as compared to traditional databases. To monitor a Couchbase database, you will need the following additional details:

• Scheme: Provide http/https scheme to access the Couchbase.
• Username: User name to log on to Couchbase.
• Password: Password for the user name above.
• Port: The port on which Couchbase is running.

CouchDB 1.x

CouchDB1.x server is an open source, document-oriented NoSQL database that supports massive data storage and management with increased flexibility and scalability as compared to traditional databases. To monitor CouchDB1.x database, you will need the following additional details:

• Scheme: Provide http/https scheme to access the CouchDB.
• Username: User name to log on to Couchbase.
• Password: Password for the user name above.
• Port: The port on which CouchDB is running.

CouchDB 2.0

CouchDB2.0 server is an open source, document-oriented NoSQL database that supports massive data storage and management with increased flexibility and scalability as compared to traditional databases. Provide the following setting to monitor the popular open source CouchDB v2 database:

Provide username, password, database url and stats url
• Username: User name to log on to Couchbase.
• Password: Password for the user name above.
• Stats URL: Provide URL to connect to your server. A sample URL might look as follows: http://192.168.0.9:5984/_node/couchdb@localhost/_stats
• DB URL: Provide URL to connect to access database. A sample URL might look as follows: http://192.168.0.9:5984/_all_dbs

MongoDB Server

Provide the following setting to monitor the MongoDB database:

• Scheme: Provide http/https scheme to access the MongoDB.
• Username: User name to log on to Couchbase.
• Password: Password for the user name above.
• Port: The port on which MongoDB is running.

Cassandra Server

Provide the following setting to monitor the Cassandra database:

• Username: User name to log on to Cassandra.
• Password: Password for the user name above.
• JMX Connector Port: Provide the JMX port.

Riak Server

Provide the following setting to monitor the riak database:

• Scheme: Provide http/https scheme to access the Riak.
• Username: User name to log on to Couchbase.
• Password: Password for the user name above.
• Port: The port on which Riak is running.
