Unix File Folder Monitor

AppPerfect supports monitoring for Unix File/Folder parameters such as size, age, existance of file, number of files etc.

This chapter describes how to work with Unix File Folder monitor provided by AppPerfect Monitor to monitor your files and folders.

Managing monitors

To view the list of all available monitors defined with the AppPerfect Monitor, log in as administrator and click the "Monitors" tab. A list of all defined monitors is displayed. You can edit the properties of a monitor by clicking it and updating the properties page for that monitor.

To delete a monitor, select the checkbox to the left of that monitor and click "Delete". When you delete a monitor, you may choose to preserve the data already recorded for that monitor or you may delete the monitor along with all its historical data.

Defining a new monitor

File Folder Size

To monitor the size of any file or folder, you will need to provide following additional details:

• File Path: Location of file/folder to be monitored
• Protocol: Select the protocol to connect to remote machine.
• Username: User name to connect to the machine.
• Password: Password for the user name above.

File Folder Age

To monitor the age of any file or folder, you will need to provide following additional details:

• File Path: Location of file/folder to be monitored
• Protocol: Select the protocol to connect to remote machine.
• Username: User name to connect to machine.
• Password: Password for the user name above.

File Folder Exist Check

To check the existance of any file or folder, you will need to provide following additional details:

• File Path: Location of file/folder to be monitored
• Protocol: Select the protocol to connect to remote machine.
• Username: User name to connect to machine.
• Password: Password for the user name above.

File Folder Count

To count number of file/folders in some directory, you will need to provide following additional details:

• Directory Path: Location of Directory to be monitored
• Protocol: Select the protocol to connect to remote machine.
• Username: User name to connect to machine.
• Password: Password for the user name above.
